I will be purchasing a 21 Tundra from a dealer this week.

I initially was talking to a dealer in TN and they were able to offer a genuine Toyota extended warranty.

The dealer in my state only offers a warranty through Southeast Toyota/JM&A.

I want to get an extended warranty just to cover the electronics in the truck.

Is there a way I can purchase a genuine Toyota warranty on this truck or do I have to use Southeast Toyota/JM&A?

Is the JM&A even worth it? Of course the finance guy loves it and his entire family uses it, but I want to make sure before I spend any additional money.

AFAIK if you are over 3yrs/36K miles, you can no longer purchase a Toyota extended warranty. Many here have used a dealership in the midwest and I can forward you the info if you want.

I have no knowledge of JM&A but in my experience the vast majority of after market warranties are a waste of money.

Please send the info my way. The truck is a 2021 so I think I should be able to purchase it.

Do the electronics have a high failure rate ? I don't read much about it here. I think the vast majority of extended warranties are a waste of money as they pay out less than 90% of what they bring in (they're cash cows) and would rather Save the same money for a potential large repair down the road - which usually doesn't come so you get to keep the dough. Luck and trust in Toyota.

If you are within the 3yr/36k time frame go for the Genuine Toyota Warranty and follow @seydou advice to shop it outside your area, I did this and it paid for itself already due to rear axle bearing failure at 70k. I would venture to say electronics are not as much a concern as cam tower leak, axle bearing replacement, fuel pump replacement, leaking rear diff, All of which I had.
