Hey everyone, new member here - but I've owned 6 Toyota trucks over the past 35 years (2 Pickups, 2 first gen Tundras and 2 second gen) and been lurking here for years.

I'm getting a Boss HTX V plow installed on my current truck in a couple weeks to plow my own driveways and maybe a few others for friends and family... relatively gentle use. This truck is a 2015 SR5 DC 5.7L with TRD Offroad package, just over 60K miles. We're in Saratoga County, the southern Adirondacks region of upstate NY, and average about 75" of snow annually.

I'm getting conflicting advice from 2 Boss dealers... both say they've installed this plow on a lot of Tundras and it's a great combination... the dealer in Albany recommends a lift kit and maybe Timbrens, the one toward Utica (where they get a lot more snow than Albany) says the stock suspension handles this relatively light (495#) setup just fine and there's no need for any suspension upgrade. I would prefer not to lift it any more than it already is with the TRD package because most of my driving is between job sites on paved roads.

So for those of you that have a decent amount of saddle time plowing with a 2nd gen Tundra, what do you recommend?

    Thanks.

Welcome! I lived in Oneida county until 2017. I miss Upstate NY. Beautiful country. I’m no suspension expert, others will chime in on that. Good luck!
