I own a Tundra! Been watching and waiting for over a year, and finally found a deal that I couldn't pass up. Picked up a 2019 Crewmax in MGM with all three upgrade packages (TRD, SR5, Convenience).

This will be my daily driver and family rig, but will still see plenty of time on gravel and unmaintained roads. I'm going to keep the stock wheels for now, but definitely want to upgrade the tires and swap out the suspension. I was planning on the Toytec/Eibach 3/1 kit, but I see that is no longer available for the new Tundras.

What other options do I have? Go with the boss system from Toytec for the 3/1, or Bilstein 6112/5160? I won't be going any bigger than 295's for tires, so I don't want to look like I missed leg day! Will 295's even fit on the stock TRD rim, or am I stuck with 285's?

Anyone having issues with rock chips on the rocker panels? The rockers on my previous pickup were in horrible condition from all of the gravel and rock chips. I DO NOT want that to happen with this one! Thinking about having some 3mil protective coating applied to the rockers, but wanted to see if you off-road/gravel guys have had issues with excessive chipping.

I've got the 6112s on my truck with 295/70/18s and they fit fine on stock TRD wheels. No rubbing if you remove the mudflaps. As far as rock chips on the rockers, I haven't had any issues, even without mudflaps. The pait is already thicker down there for protection. You can tell by all the orange peel. lol

Welcome to the fun! I’m running the 6112/5100 set up and love it. Great middle of the road selection for height and off road performance. I also did a set of JBA Upper control arms to help alignment numbers. I’m on stock 20’s at the moment but got some 18’s on order. Also, bitchin color brother!

Thanks for the warm welcome, fellas. I don't plan on making too many mods to this, but I "need" a little more room for bigger tires to handle all the snow up here in ND. I've spent a fair portion of the day reading through the 6112/5160 threads, so I'm kind of leaning that way now. I saw a lot of back and forth between the 1.9" setting with shims vs. the highest setting and now shims. Also see lots of guys running the CB shackles with no complains and others saying that the ride is stiff....Needless to say, my head is spinning!

Can you tell me a little more about your setup? I'm leaning toward the 6112/5160.

I was in the same boat, didnt plan on doing too much and now I’m over run with mods. I’ve got shims on my 6112’s and they are on the top setting also running +3 shackles out back. Truck rides amazing! We’re all full of info and willing to share, good luck with your build.
