Welcome aboard. Take a very good look at the frame and comb it over for rust. If you can get some pictures underneath, we can better help you judge. I see a little rust on the frame in the rear wheel well, but hard to judge just based on that. Frame might be severely rusted and that's why they're letting it go so cheap. Be careful because the seller may not disclose the extent of the rust.

Seems like a good deal. I wouldn’t expect to just fix the muffler and AC compressor and then have no other problems. It’s a 20 year old truck with over 300k. It will need ongoing attention and maintenance.

Ask the seller for a detailed list of repairs and maintenance, specifically when the timing belt was last changed and how often, if ever, the transmission has been serviced.

That's not a double cab. And it does not appear to be a limited either.

Test drove the truck loud bc of the exhaust but no smoke. Did have oil (as seen in the picture I am adding) guy said that it is a seal leak and he has a guy that will do the work I just need to buy the part and he advised it’s not an expensive fix.

Its what is called an Access Cab. It has the rear doors that open up backward like suicide doors. A double cab has a larger backseat area with doors that open normally.

That oil leak has been happening for a long, long time. I also see the timing belt was replaced last in 2011. That's a 9 year/90k mile item. I bet that truck has had 0 maintenance.

Hard to read but does the sticker also say 107K? If so, that's 210K miles on that timing belt.

Pass pass pass, you'll wind up spending 3k to get it fixed. That could be a rear main seal or almost anything with the amount of oil under that thing. If you were really serious take the VIN to Toyota and see if it fell under the frame recall, if so was anything done? My 03 Sequoia was under the recall but didn't qualify because it didn't have any rust that were all the way through, just surface rust. They treated it and gave it another 10 year warranty on the frame.

That's a great price honestly, for what it is. You'd be dumping another $1k-2k into it to get it somewhat nice, but ... I dunno. If you're handy, I wouldn't pass it up. That's just me. Coming from another 1st gen dude. I really don't pay attention to any of the 2007+ dudes, most aren't familiar enough with the 1st gens to listen to.

I would have to agree with Shifty on this, it’s not a bad price but you do have some work to do it. I’ve got an 06 V6 that I purchased a couple of years ago. I knew going into it that that there would be some work and extra money involved but the truck has served me well. I’d get rid of my 2022 Sierra 1500 before I’d kick my Tundra to the curb….just can’t beat’em.

Yep like people say, that's a reasonable price, but you wouldn't be buying a "turn-key" truck. You'd be putting a few thousand into it. If you understand that, it's likely a great deal. If you only have a couple thousand to spend, and think you're getting a steal on a truck you'll be able to just drive as-is - no way.

And yes, Access Cab, SR5. Not double cab, not limited.

Valve cover leak on both sides. Looks like it could have been overfilled with oil given how high the oil residue is. I would expect to find a lot of other issues on that one. Personally, I would pass.

Agree. Not knowing the trim or body style also a red flag for me. Shows basic lack or knowledge / interest that likely carried over to the care and maintenance of the vehicle.
