    You mean it’s “responsive”?

    Describe “jumpy”?

is it the same in the different drive modes?

Tryin to ease the throttle on from a stop, it almost like the pedal is stuck just little, then it moves and it's like i am a bad driver with a jerky start. The pedal is not stuck. Does not always happen. If i realy focus on pushing the pedal just so, it goes fine. It's just realy easy to have the first bit be jerky. Wife has commented on it also.

It's not the hesation some people describe where they give it gas and it does not go. If i step on it, it always goes. Its the first little getting it rolling from a stop.

I haven’t experienced the hesitation issue that some describe. Yours does sound different. These are throttle by wire, right? I don’t know what is used to sense the throttle input, but conceivably it could have a problem?

If there is a software fix, the dealer should handle it.

Maybe go to your dealer and test drive another tundra and compare?

I'm experienced the same thing intermittently. From what I've experienced it's from a stop and feels like the pedal is sticking just enough to cause you to apply too much pressure and take off jerky/jumpy (not smooth). I don't feel like it's the throttle lag that some on the forum have mentioned as when Im driving and accelerate I don't feel a lag.

You are describing the throttle lag problem. My truck has it too, I got a reflash to fix it, and that didn't work.

Oh ok...I read some of those other threads and they are all over the place on what they are experiencing with throttle lag so assumed this was different as its very specific

There might be varying degrees of the same problem. The throttle lag that some people report is a noticeable hesitation lasting a second, or so, after pushing the throttle. People have talked about almost getting into accidents from it when trying to quickly merge into cross traffic.

The OP's problem sounds similar but less severe.

Then there are many others, like me, who have never experienced any hesitation at all.

The new engine fixes that. I have the same thing. It’s the throttle lag discussed. It’s like sometimes it doesn’t pick up that the peddle has moved forward until engages and it jumps.

Toyota has denied it every time I bring it up. For me, it does go away after things warm up a little. If I'm not moving and shift into D, the truck will try to lurch hard so I need to be on the brake. Usually only once per drive session.

This is pretty much the only quirk mine has as well. If the truck has been sitting for a couple of hours, and I shift from P to D, it'll lurch itself forward. I've found that if I shift to D and wait at least four seconds before releasing the brake, it won't throw itself forward.

Toyota has given me the same response, and I've never been able to replicate it at the dealer.

As mentioned earlier I had the very same problem, However I was part of the engine recall. The new motor does not have the problem at all! :amen::yes:

I'm still waiting on the TSB Break fix for the squeaky breaks when reversing in the morning. 3 :monocle:months now and counting...

Thats because it's not a 'lag'. There's probably little bit of reading comprehension on your end, gang. Mr.Hudrock clearly explains that it feels like pedal is sticking and then sort of like 'breaking loose', like a mechanical sticking of the pedal. Your problem wasn't fixed with a reflash, because it isn't electronic problem. Maybe the pedal mechanism needs some lube at the hinge.
