I recently purchased my first truck and I think I got a pretty good deal. The truck is clean and runs well and it came with TRD stickers on the bed but I know you can just buy them online and slap them on so I was curious if there is anyway to tell if it’s a true TRD by features it has? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

TRD Offroad models got stickers, Bilstein shocks and some beefier / extra skids for like the transfer case and gas tank. You can enter your VIN on the Toyota site and see what it came with from the factory. TRD packages are factory installed, not add ons.

I'm not sure if I would really care. Both of my Tundra's have the off-road package. With age means the shocks either will need replacing soon or have already been replaced. The skid plate on my '07 is nothing special. Besides I'll never take it off road where it'll need the protection. Some of the off road packages did have nicer wheels and grill but the package didn't include that in 2007. BTW nice looking truck. You just need to think about replacing those headlights. Once they start to fade/ scratch they make the truck look dated.

Yeah. You make valid points. Most likely plan is to slowly upgrade suspension in the next 20k. Any recommendations on headlights?

Late 2nd gen Seqouia LEDs are the best option.

Headlights are a personal thing. If you don't mind spending big bucks there are some nice options. If you want to go cheap there are some Chinese ones that you can make work. There's always the original lights (I've seen them on ebay for about $250 each but can't confirm they are not counterfeits). I went with the cheap Chinese ones simply because I like the looks of the originals but with the black (not chrome) around the lights. I did switch from the standard bulb to an LED projector for the low beam that produces tons of light. I'm not in the same boat as most people. In the last 6 years I've put less than 10k miles on her. So it's really hard to justify spending $1000 on Sequoia headlights and getting new trim pieces painted to match the truck. I more into functionality than looks.

Great points. I’m going to have to look into the sylvania kit. Might be what the doctor ordered for now. Those sequoia headlights look super clean though. Hard to justify right now just because I would like to address some maintenance items like fluids and possibly start updating the suspension. Any recommendations on the light bulbs? Amazon?
