I purchased a new front and rear bumper from Ironman for my '17 Tundra through my mechanic that I've used since 2004 who specializes in Toyotas and has been an Ironman dealer for some time. My mechanic has installed these on other Tundras and had good experiences with them. The front bumper installed seamlessly and looks great. The rear bumper couldn't be adjusted to allow the tailgate to open fully without significant contact between the vertical trim piece on the bumper that shields the body under the tailgate and the tailgate. It would open to the point of about 4" of remaining travel before hitting the tailgate. The mechanic contacted Ironman about it and they said "ya this happens with some of our bumpers when installed so just cut that trim piece off". My mechanic shared this with me and I said that I didn't want to chop it as it built for this truck specifically and to please contact them again. At this point, all second hand, Ironman was dismissive and wouldn't even respond to messages about this. I was told the conversations he was able to have were fairly contentious and not at all helpful. My mechanic made the call to cut the trim piece and once installed realized that the bumper doesn't have enough adjustment in it to be mounted level on the frame. There is a discrepancy of 5/16" from one edge of the tailgate to the other. The truck has never had any damage or issues that may be causing this, it is purely the result of poor craftsmanship by Ironman. Now that the trim piece is gone from the bumper you can see the body under the tailgate which makes that height difference even more noticeable. Supposedly my mechanic has escalated his conversation with Ironman to the CEO and is still awaiting some sort of resolution.

I have no prior experience with Ironman and thought this may be helpful for others looking to make upgrades using their product.

Sounds about right for Ironman crap products. No idea why people keep buying their shit.

Surprised to hear this. I have the front bumper setup with winch and it's been flawless with exceptional quality.

    Pics would be awesome OP

I was just reading another thread about similar rear bumper issues (dif manufacturer). Seems the rear bumper replacements can be hit or miss. That being said, the Ironman front bumper is at the top of my want list.

I was going to say for the cost, still best all around option. Others are twice the cost or more.

I think you have to get a little fabby with any of these Chinese products. It's not worth sending back, you may need to open the mounting hole a bit

It is an Australian company not clear that the products are actually manufactured there.

I know that but I don’t think they make anything there.
I think he is correct that their stuff is made in China.
I have asked them on a couple of occasions with radio silence from them.
Which that kind of tells me it is China.
I also don’t have any products by them so can’t say for sure but would like to know.

Typical for Ironman. There should be a sticky somewhere on this forum JUST to warn people about their stuff. Front bumpers notwithstanding, of course. For some reason, that thing is a modern work of art and reliability.

By law they have to state the country of origin but this product may fall in to one of the exception categories.

I bought their shackles, bushings, and U-bolts. All appear to be very well made. Also really like their install videos. That said, it doesn’t sound like attention to detail is their forte.

They carefully state "designed and tested" in Australia" in every description. Their production is outsourced to Thailand (main hub I believe) and Taiwan.

Their shocks are also made in China, see official response below. This is how I found the country of origin for the bumper but I can't find the post. I looked this up when the raid bumper first came out. Protip: anytime someone says "designed in USA", it ain't made in USA.

I recall them saying the front bumper was made in Thailand when I called about my winch box. Honestly as long as it's not china I'm ok with it. Australia manufacturing is actually really good. I bought a grease gun made there, McNaught, you can smell the quality. Took me days to find a grease gun not made in China or India.

Killer marketing and price point keeps people buying. Even though the quality is junk.
