    Hi Folks,

    Nice to meet you all!

    I have a 2019 Tundra Platinum 1794, and I need some 120V power there, about 800 WA.

So with an inverter with 90% efficiency, I'll need about 75A. As I understood, I have a 150A alternator, so is it OK if I run such an inverter when driving? Will 75A be enough for the rest of the truck DC loads?

    Thank you
    B.

It all really depends on if the Truck is all ready running and recovered from start up drain, how many other things are running at the same time (lights, stereo, ac/heater,) and what is actually drawing from the inverter, is it maxed out drawing the 800 watts or is the load on it smaller.

the general rule is 14.2V x alt amps /2 and the remainder is Free-watts. So 14.2V x 150amps= 2,130watts /2= 1,065 Free-watts. So with that formula 800 watts at max draw should be fine as long as the electrical system is healthy. In the future if you add any thing else in you will want to start with 1,065-800=265, the 265 remaining Free-watts. :)

short answer it will be fine, just hope this information helps.
    And welcome to forum :D

You'll be fine. We run a 400w one under passenger seat of our sequoia. It's used to power ipads, nintendo switches, and xbox. Works great. I used amp wiring kit, 4 gauge from battery, and grounded under the seat.
