Hey guys! So my name is Zak, I just bought a 2015 double cab from my father-in-law for a steal. Right now it’s stock, however I just purchased a 2” leveling kit and nitro grappler 285/70R18’s yesterday. I’m getting my windows tinted in the next few weeks and I also ordered new headlights since the stock ones are not very bright.

I do have a question about tire fitment tho. I’ve been reading a lot on this forum but can’t seem to find this one... with the 2” level kit and the 285/70’s. If I’m looking at buying rims too, what kind of offset/backspacing should I be looking for so the tires fit without rubbing/minimal trimming. I don’t mind if the tires stick out from the truck, I’d like them too a bit actually. Any info is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome, and you want to stick around +25mm offset. I have a 2nd gen 2008 with a 2" spacer and 275/70/18, which are about an inch shorter than what you are going with and a little narrower. Here is a picture for reference with height and how it sticks out. The +25mm is around the sweet spot.

Welcome from CT. I'm running 285/70r18's on Scs ray 10's that are +25 offset and I believe 6" back spacing. Bilstein 6112's set at 1.9" with a driver side shim. Hope this helps you out. 20180621_205120.jpg

    Welcome!

I wouldn't go lower than +18 (stock is +60), and the more it sticks out with Grapplers, the more likely rocks will shoot up the side and damage the paint, like a gravel road or lot.

Thanks so much everyone! Super quick responses. This is a great forum! Looks like I’ll go anywhere from +18 to +40ish. I definitely want them to stick out just a bit like yours Parker and like Casper’s. They both look badass! Much appreciated!

    Lifted 2.75 in the front.
Had to do the fender liner mod to keep from rubbing.

So I just ordered the GA641’s from tire rack this morning. All black with a +25 offset. I can’t decide if I want to get matching tail lights or not. I may have to wait on those since I just dropped quite a bit of money on my truck lol

I know you weren’t talking to me but I’ll post pics of my truck before and after once I finally receive everything and have it installed. I’ll hopefully post a message as detailed as possible that should answer almost every question with my set up . Good luck everyone!

Super awesome truck. I got my 2018 not too long ago and just got my Bilstein 5100's and am going to put them at the middle (1.9) setting. I saw in a thread that you have your coilers at the same setting. Not to be a total copier but I was also looking at the Ray 10's in matte black along with either 295/70 or 285/70. I was wondering if you had time if you could let me know if you had any rubbing or had to do any mods with the ray 10 and 285/70.

I did trim the skid plate and push fender well forward about a inch and removed mud flaps, to be honest not sure I needed to do any of that  but didn't want any problems with rubbing on the way home from tire dealer. But yeah no rubbing and reinstalled the mud flap.

Awesome. I'm talking to a wheel and tire dealer right now. I told them I am having it leveled and was planning on getting 18x9 25+ offset wheels. I also told them about 285/70 but they said they wouldn't recommend that size and it may have rubbing.

Are you still on stock Upper control arms, brake lines, etc?

Awesome. Thanks for letting me pick your brain. I think I'll just pull the trigger on the same size. As long as I don't have to do a CMC...

Sorry one more thing, are you able to take a birds eye view photo of the tire sticking out from the wheel well and just a straight side shot. Here on Oahu, recon permits are ridiculous. If it's too much trouble no worries

No problem, plenty of room between tire n cab mount on this setup it shouldn't be a issue.

Cool haha. Would you be able to snap those pics? Also a pic of the upper control arm clearance? If not does it clear well?
