I’m having intermittent odd starting sounds.
Battery tests good. No idiot light on.
Today upon startup it kept trying to fire after letting off the key and did not start. Retried 2 more times and weakly started.
    Thoughts?

I have that issue and it’s usually always a cold related problem. Pretty sure it’s the E85 content sensor that causes this issue, but I’ve never had mine flashed to fix it. Supposedly there’s a dealer flash that solves this.

How cold does it have to be? It was not below 70 here when it happened. (Houston)

Reset the ethanol reading if you can or check and see if you fall under a reflash from the dealer.

If your truck is Flex Fuel and you have less than 80k miles, show this to service advisor at Toyota. It worked out for me about 1yr ago. Good luck!

Should have E85/Flex Fuel across gas cap. Maybe on sticker under hood. Could also lookup VIN on Toyota site and lookup all options.

Thanks. It’s apparently not a flex fuel. Nothing was on the gas cap and the sticker says gasoline/ethanol with no mention of e85 or flex fuel.

One thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes on the start up, the power seat does not move into position. This usually coincides with the poor start up issue. Once I get driving, I realize the seat is too far back, and the steering wheel is not properly adjusted. Then I have to put it in park and hit the memory button.

    Update:
Took it to my friend’s Lexus dealership and they said the bulletin 16CM provided above does apply to my truck. Apparently, on my model, they only Label when E85 is not compatible. I’m supposed to hear back tomorrow with more info.

@Footballfan33 I'm glad this may work out for you as well! Wish I could remember and thank who originally posted it. Keep us posted on the outcome.
