Intermittent radio problem

I have a 2015 SR5 crewmax. I'll be driving along and the radio will lock up. The sound stops, the display freezes. It won't accept inputs on the touch screen, etc. The only thing that works is to push the power button and hold for about 5 seconds to restart the system. Any help is appreciated. thank you.

 

Try updating the firmware.
If that doesn’t fix it, it’s a sign that you should upgrade to aftermarket.

 

Thanks for the reply. I assume I have to go to the Toyota service dept to upgrade the firmware on the radio, correct?

 

If it’s still under warranty. Go in. Otherwise you can go here and download the firmware.

I updated the software or firmware per your instructions and it worked. I'll see if it fixed the intermittent freeze up problem on my next long drive. Thanks for the info.

The download website doesn’t let me download. Did they update the website? Can anyone else try the website and make sure it’s not just my computer acting up? Thanks.
