    Hi all,

First time post and hopefully a successful one, happy to be part of the forum either way!

I just bought my first Tundra (2007 SR5) and have been having issues with the cruise control.

Driving over 80kmph, will press the on/off button multiple times and only randomly and occasionally it will work. When you do finally get it to show the green CRUISE light on the dash, then only occasionally, but at least more often than not, the truck will register when you SET or RESET your speed. Then if you're lucky it will switch on and off again. Jump back in the truck the next day and it's a constant button bash driving down the highway to see if we'll be allowed to enjoy cruise control or not for the journey.

I started with all fuses, lights etc and they're all good and confirmed by mechanic. Also replaced the cruise control switch and it's all connected properly and confirmed by the mechanic as well. The horn works fine.

Which leaves me scratching my head about to do now before going down the path of replacing the clock spring. I saw one thread where a Tundra owner replaced both clock spring AND cruise control switch and was STILL having intermittent issues.

So, any ideas or advice before I see whether or not replacing the clock spring helps?

    Thanks in advance!

I had intermittent stereo control issues on the steering wheel buttons, replaced the clock spring with the $15 eBay one and it solved my problem.

On my 07 I had to replace both the Cruise control switch and the clock spring. The shop (Toyota Specialist shop) showed me a diagram that showed how they diagnosed the issue. In my case, the On/off button was broken on the cruise control switch. And when the clock spring was tested, the only part broken on it was the cruise control portion. Hopefully yours can do the same.

Same issue. Replaced the cruise control switch and it worked for a bit, then random as above. Just had the clock spring replaced. That did not fix it. What next?
