I've recently noticed my 2012 4.6L V-8 Tundra's Check Engine light illuminates especially after it rains here in Texas. Last weekend it came after driving two miles away from my house. It came on after pulling out of the garage the following morning. It remained lit for a day. Then, it was off.

Do temperature variances in the atmosphere a possible cause fur the check engine light it illuminate sporadically?

You'll need to have it scanned to see if there is a stored code in the system that might point you in the right direction. The code could be anything really, but I'd start with inspecting your coil packs. I had a 4.7 that ended up having 6 of 8 coil packs with visible cracks down the tube. Moisture can affect spark and could be a good start, but honestly without a code it's just guessing.
