    Hello,
I have 1st gen Tundra (2005). I am replacing rack and pinion. My Intermediate Shaft Assembly was stuck and it separated from middle. Now half part is connected with upper part. Is it possible if I join it with metal clamps that part? or if I make whole in it and put nut and bolts in it?
Also is Tacoma and Tundra Intermediate Shaft Assembly for power steering are same?
See image of my broken/Separated part and original part

I'm having trouble visualizing whereabouts that is. I'm just flipping thru the exploded parts diagrams now, here's the rack and pinion for an '05 Access Cab 4WD V8 truck (you put in way too few details in for me to be able to find your exact truck, cab/engine/drivetrain/trim):

    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...84/FRONT-STEERING-GEAR--LINK/841420-4505.html

Here's the steering column & shaft for that same '05:

If you can find your part in those diagrams then click on it in the list under the diagram, there's a full-blown list of which models are compatible, in case you wanted to hit the JY and look for used stuff.... Like this - I'm not saying this is the part you need - just showing the compatibility list example.

    Removed lots of rust.
There were two different Intermediate / Steering Shaft Assemblies used in various years/ trucks.
