I want to power my LED's with 2 different power sources. I have an on/off/on switch. I want to connect the positive sides of the LED's to the center post and the power on each side (one from the battery being continuous, the other from the driver side floor light having it turn on when the doors open and off with the timer once the doors close). But having done this, I found that if I ground to the wire at the light, both positions work with the door switch. If I ground to the chassis, both positions work with the continuous. I've checked and rechecked. Stumped..... Bad Switch??? I Googled similar applications, and found this video, who did the exact same thing I am trying....https://youtu.be/srCc4jzWmLI

Short of installing a second door switch on the drivers door, I can't find a solution. @TundraTex Any ideas?

Sounds like the door switch grounds the interior light circuit. You're wiring your switch as if the door switch swtiched the hot wire. Without looking at a circuit diagram, I think that the door switch usually grounds the circuit.

I have figured out that the switch should be on the ground side, not power... As you suggest. I think it should as follows....
    ............................/ door switch- ground
    Power-lights- switch- off
    ............................\ ground

That was going to be my suggestion as well. Most of the toyota illumination is accomplished by switched ground rather than switched power. Good call @Ericsopa
