Posting here too since the wheels and tires thread is all newer gen tundras. Has anyone had any experience trying to fit these wheels on a first gen tundra? Interco Birddog Wheels size 16x9 with 4 1/2 backspacing

Truck is an 2003 access cab 4x4.

No, but they should fit. I ran 16x9 wheels with 4.5 backspacing before. Thats a pretty cool wheel.

Thanks for the reply! These wheels are pretty sweet they have dual valve stems and a special bead retention system. Ill post more pictures once they are mounted up

    They look good, but....
Question: are these bead-lock wheels? If so, I'd pass unless your truck is a dedicated crawler or at least 80% offroad. Bead-locks aren't a good choice if your truck is a daily driver.

    Welcome to the forum!

Thanks! They are a dot approved alternative that interco designed a few years back. But they aren’t true beadlocks. These wheels are a lot more popular on the Jeep forums but I’ve seen them on a few Tacoma’s and land cruisers.

I do like the wheel. Didn't know you could get a 16"wheel in a 9" width. Did you buy the set in the picture? Those 35" tires are gonna be tough to fit!

Those 285's should look sweet on 9" wheels.

90% sure if it fit the 1st gen taco in the photo, the tundra should be no issue

Sweet! They are coming off a newer gen Tacoma as well. These are the actual wheels purchased in the photo

Nice. 285/75/r16 is the Sweet Spot!

I like those wheels. I am waiting on the ‘Rivet Phase’ on wheels to die out before buying any. Maybe a few more years?

Yea I know what you mean about the rivet wheels phase! I just got a killer deal on these wheels and tires that I couldn’t pass on. Actual wheels I wanted are the Enkei RF1 wheels in 16x8 but those cost big boy money lol

I purchased the truck with the rancho 2.5 quick lift on it. Soon to be swapped out for Bilstein or ads Im thinking. The rack on the cap is just you standard Yakima round bar setup. Think the bars are 56” long

Bottom of the front fender flare and on the inside of front mud flap. Nothing major but I definitely have to trim the front flare. Not sure how to cut that yet.

Those look really good. I’m a big fan of black wheels with a machined lip finish. It’s old school but new school at the same time.

No spacers? Just checking as I like the look spacers provide but don’t like them mechanically. Looks like 9” does the job without spacers.

Your wheel size is giving me an idea. Can you post up the Spec Sheet on these wheels for future reference?

My bad those are the wrong specs haha. I bought these used so I’m not exactly sure on the offset but I do know they are 16x9 with a 4” backspace. 6x5.5
