Does it have a noticeable affect on horsepower to install a trd intake flow accelerator on a 5.7 tundra engine? Has anyone tried just to add one without the entire trd air filter box.

I have the accelerator and TRD drop in although I added it right after I got the truck so cant really compare. It makes a whistle I dont mind it but it can be rectified.

What caused the whistle, the air filter or accelerator?

Gasket in the throttle body that is kind of mesh but you can replace it with a different one or simply cut the mesh out.

I added one and I think it’s sufficient. I didn’t notice too much but it sounds a little throatier. Next step SABM stock air box mod. Search for that.

If the computer controls how much air flows into the engine does it really do any good to put an air flow accelerator on my truck and or a high air flow air filter for that matter?
