There's a lot of you that have heavily modified trucks in here. Who do you use for insurance? Is it insanely expensive when you give your insurance agent your parts list? Just got a quote from progressive and it is so ridiculously expensive it makes my head hurt. Any suggestions?

Extra insurance is an absolute waste if you can be disciplined. Take that difference in pricing, stick it in an interest yielding account and continue to do so. The reserve of money will grow quicker than you think and you will forever more have a nice and GROWING reserve that noone can argue the payout amount on.

Geico. First 5k in mods covered free. At least that was the rule last time I added stuff. Had aftermarket rims, stereo and steps covered on last truck. This time I think I just have my steps and stereo covered, don’t remember. Maybe bed cover too.Been a long time since I asked about it. Useful for if you’re hit by an uninsured driver, you’re at fault, or to get you a few more bucks if its stolen.

StateFarm has told me that as long as I have receipts to prove the cost I’m covered. I have never had to use my insurance so not 100% sure if it’s true or not

My insurance says if it goes into a factory location it's covered.
