I recall a thread around the changelog for v2050 and v2170 but it seems to have disappeared. I wonder if it was from our old colleague Greg who is no longer on the platform. If this thread is redundant to another, moderators please delete this one.

Today I started up my truck and was notified that v2170 was available for update. I was in a rush and didn't have a chance to view the changelog. So I downloaded and installed while I drove.

I dont notice any real changes so perhaps its just bug fixes.

Does anyone have the change log to v2170?

One thing that is odd is that I never signed up for connected services nor have I connected my truck to my home's wifi. Yet the update still downloaded from I assume the main receiver. Didn't know that was possible.

yes 2170 is in fact out, I got mine in the last day or two. I don't have the full change log but it does now have the ability in CarPlay to have the toyota menu on the left in addition to the CarPlay menu for those that like that.

runs snappy, and so far no issues.

Dang. I specifically searched for v2170 and v2050 and it never came up. I see now that I was only searching in the 3rd Gen forum vs all forum. Thank you!

The documentation isn't clear about what wireless services the updates get pulled down from but I don't they should/can rely on everyone connecting their vehicle to wifi. So in the absence of wifi, it must be coming over the cellular network that all of us have built in.

EDIT: just did the update and wasn't connected to wifi so it must be cellular

The update comes via cellular, not wifi.

And I don't doubt that but the TSB gives instructions on turning on wifi and connecting thus the confusion

My wifi is off. Never had it on. Downloaded and installed while driving.

Yes my 22 Plat updated this morning while I was driving around with no WiFi. Very excited with the update on CarPlay to now see the Toyota menus while in CarPlay. It’s like having a Home button finally.

Yes. The change in production software was around January.

For those with a 2022 or 2023, or an early production 2024, this gets them completely up to date.

Actually, quite a bit in there with a bias to CarPlay. Thanks for the link

So do we know what or if any other changes to our interface besides the CarPlay with factory buttons?
