    Got into the big island last night from Tennessee. I'm amazed it how many Toyotas there are here.i'm at IHOP eating breakfast and just saw a sharp double cab tundra pro, Tacomas everywhere and a lot of older Toyota trucks lifted,smaller 2 wheel drive Toyotas and a lot of Rav 4's!!!

    Sounds great! I spent a couple weeks at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu years ago. Had some friends of mine in Anchorage that would go to the big island for vacation and they'd rent a Wrangler to see the sites!

    The big island is great, way less congested than Oahu which to me feels overcrowded and the traffic sucks ass. The big island is bigger and at some points I didn’t have cell service (Verizon). I think Toyota is the official car brand for Hawaiian people, lots of Toyotas everywhere. Not so many tundras but plenty of tacos.

    If you make it to the Big Island, specifically Hilo, treat your family with a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour! Very reasonable in price which also includes a video recording of the flight including narration and all onboard conversations with pilot. :thumbsup:

    Went to the big island May 2017 and had a blast. Stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, so many things to do and see there. Highlights were night time snorkeling with the manta rays and taking a drive up Mauna Kea in a rented Jeep.

    My wife was starving this morning and when you see how much resort store prices are then Walmart is a great alternative. We are going to try a Hawaiian favorite tommorow for breakfast. It has rice, sausage and a fried egg on top. I can't remember what it was called.

    Ok you gotta go to these places to eat: Hawaiian Style Cafe Waimea and get mac nut pancakes the size of Texas, Tex's drive thru and get malasada's, chili and rice, Pine Tree Cafe for crazy good loco moco with fried rice. Mauna Lani Hotel Canoe House goooooood but spensive and Jackie Reys got really good food too! If you make it to Hilo side try Pineapples good stuff Enjoy!

    i'll hit you up late with swimming with turtles spots

    Go to Hapuna Beach, great place, Go hotel hopping on the gold coast kona side check out their beaches, hammocks The Prince Kuhio right on Hapuna beach.. I think its mile marker 77/78 on the 11 you'll see cars parked follow the trail about a mile off road and you'll run into a lagoon where the sea turtles nest they are protected from rough water and sharks because the tide makes a natural barrier and you can swim with em

    We were in the Waikiki area a few years back. It was OK for a first trip to the islands but crowded and congested as all hell. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii some time in the future but definitely to another island.
