I have a 2009 tundra long bed, 5.7 with tow package.

I realize second generation Tundras range from 2007 to 2013 but I was hoping if any of you have a 2009 specifically you might respond to the following question for me.

When you insert a properly working master key into the ignition cylinder, without rotating the ignition cylinder, does your immobilizer light go out?
Or, does it only go out when the ignition cylinder is rotated to the run position?

I would really appreciate feedback on this question specifically from anyone with a 2009 Tundra, thanks.

BTW, I do recognize that with virtually all Toyotas, simply inserting a working master key into the ignition cylinder is all that’s required for the immobilizer light to go out.

    I just checked my 2008.

The light goes off as soon as the key is inserted.

Thanks for the reply. Afterwards, I went out and played around with my key. I discovered that if I push my key in firmly and hold it, it will stop the blinking immobilizer light. If I let go, it will start blinking again. So there must be a worn switch in there or something.

Does anybody know if that switch is part of the ignition cylinder, or possibly ignition switch?
