Might be a stupid question but... I have a 07 tundra 5.7L 4x4 reg cab and recently it went from starting/driving fine to episodes of starting and then once stopped not starting again could leave it sit and then would start, now it does not crank, lights do come on. was told the ignition immobilizer was bad. the illumination ring is only half way lit up does that mean anything or just the led could have gone out? we are taking the key to get checked today to see if its bad. any other suggestions are greatly appreciated before I spend $400 on a new immobilizer. Thanks!!

Im trying to get this immobilizer crap figured out. so with that illumination ring being half out does that mean that part is not functioning correctly and will keep the truck from starting? Or is the actual immobilizer unit possibly bad not just the light/antenna part? Ive been directed in so many different ways and the dealership is not wanting to offer up any info. A lock smith actually gave me more info than the dealership. Lock smith states that 9x out 10 the actual immobilizer is not bad. sound correct?

If it's half out, maybe it's unplugged? I think the led is bad.
Cheap fix is to replace it yourself.
