    does anybody know what the spare part number is for the female end (the side that is wired to the truck and plugs into the ignition switch) of the ignition switch connector? i bought one used on Ebay but the wires are different gauges and I"m concerned about that. also, on one of the pins for the one I received, there are two wires coming out of hte same pin and on my truck connector (shown on the left) there is only one wire. the connector is the proper one but I can't push the pins out to try to make the connections that way so I was just wondering if I can just buy a brand new one and start from scratch.

    the one that came out of my truck is on the left and the one that I bought is on the right. same connector, different wire gauges.

    (see signature for truck info)
    It'd really be helpful if you include the following info about your truck so we can answer your question with some level of certainty:
    • Year
    • Cab type
    • V8 or V6
    • 2WD or 4WD
    • Trim package (Limited, SR5, XSP, Base)
    • If V6, is it manual?
    Parts vary on these trucks depending on many of the above. You should really go HERE and put the info I just bulleted into the "VEHICLE ONE LINE DESCRIPTION", then click the SAVE button so nobody ever has to ask you this again.

    All you really needed to do was de-pin the original connector (make a note of the wire order) and re-terminate your factory wires, then slide/snap them into the connector.

    @shifty` is correct.
    Maybe pics from all side of the connector as well.

    But just a quick search of 2001, 2003, and 2005 Ignition SW have more than 6 pins on them.
    They all seem to use the 8 pin I23 connector

    2005, same as 2003
