Ignition cut when hitting bump. Potential worn ign or key?

    My 2007 exhibited some wild behavior this weekend. 289k on the truck & the ignition or maybe moreso the key is worn to the point I can pull it out of the ignition with the truck running. Now during highway travel I've experienced the ignition cutting out after hitting bumps. Longest is about 1 second, then it's back up & running flawlessly. I say it's cutting the ignition b/c the lights never flicker, mileage still on the display, radio on, etc, etc. but the engine acts & sounds like you've turned the key off.

    Upon arriving back at home, I've taken my valet key (which still have sharp edges) and used it to start the truck. It will not pull out of the ignition (so I reckon the ignition cylinder isn't the culprit) & during a test drive down a city street that could be used as a rhythm section on an MX course it didn't miss a beat. Now I know 30mph bumps can't double as 70mph bumps but.......thoughts? Advice? I'm leaning towards the worn out key being the culprit.

    I'd check batt and ground connections to engine first.

    Rock solid with new OEM battery terminals installed less than a year ago.

    Again, the 12V isn't affected. During these instances, the mileage is still there, dash lights still there, radio still playing, etc.

    Right yet the ground for the engine is not the same ground as for all the interior stuff - just something to cross off the list. ECU ground tested?

    After 200+ driven miles, I'm ready to call this mystery solved. Using my valet key that's been used less than a handful times in the 7 years I've owned the truck, I've experienced no issues. I believe the original key in its worn state was the sole cause.
