Idler and tensioner pulley replacement for 2012 5.7

    I'm sure that there's something on YouTube.

    But with that said and having done this myself, I would recommend:

    • Drain the radiator enough that you can remove the upper radiator hose because you'll need to do that in order to remove the radiator fan shroud and radiator fan to give you much more room to work. Or you can skip that and work around those components.
    • Remove the belt.
    • Remove and replace the Idler pulley
    • Remove and replace the Tensioner pulley.
    • Install a new belt while you're in there, they're inexpensive enough.
    • Replace any other components that you may have chosen to remove (fan, shroud, upper hose and coolant).
    Done

    Okay, not done. Don't forget the transmission lines that are clipped to the shroud on the passenger side. Release clip to free hoses.
