So I had an idea and I wonder if it’s doable. Can an extra key fob be used to connect an OEM style button to the blank in the drivers panel down to the left? I know it’s pretty unnecessary since I have the driving key fob with me to power the vehicle anyway but just wondered if I could add that kind of functionality somehow from the button/chip board in an extra key fob.

I only have one key (for now) but the truck may not be happy locking if it senses a key in the truck.

Probably not since you won’t be able to lock the truck, it will say key still in the car. Also a thief can just drive away since the key is inside

Key fob buttons generally don’t work when the vehicle is running. At least that’s my experience in other vehicles. Pretty sure I can’t open my van trunk when it’s on with the fob.

I've had many GM/Chevy and Dodge/Ram/Jeep vehicles and all allowed u to use the key fob to lock and unlock doors and pop trunk/tailgates as long as the vehicle is in park. That's my biggest complaint about the tundra. It's super annoying and there is no reason for it not to work. It's almost 2024 toyota, time to catch up with the times.
