I've read some speculation and I've seen the Icon video, but I'd like to get some actual user experiences...

I'm buying a set of Icon wheels (17x8.5 et25) and I'd like to run 35's (35x12.5R17 or 315/70R17). Some claim that I won't need to do a body mount chop (BMC), some say I will.

Please chime in if you have experience with Icon wheels and 35's. Info on your lift (or lack thereof) would be great.

Running the Toyo at3 35*11.5*17 on icon vector 5 which have the same measurements. Running the elka 2.5rr with sbc uppers. No rubbing but had to remove from and rear mub flaps and use a heat gun to push the front plastic fender forward about an inch. I hated the idea of the bmc.

I have 35x12.5r17 on Icon Rebounds. Unfortunately I can’t answer to the BMC. I chopped mine before installing the tires. I have King coil overs with 650 lbs springs at about 2 inches of lift. I rubbed bad on the bumper plastic before I removed it and then replaced the front bumper. I have Total Chaos UCAs and caster is a touch over +4 degrees. I do have a lot of room between the tire and the body mount at full stuff and lock to lock turns.

Thanks for your input. I like the KO2's, but I saw the Toyo's make a 35x11.5 and thought that might buy me a little more clearance. I'll check those out.

Do you think your upper control arms have anything to do with your clearance?

Thanks for your input, I plan on removing the front and rear mud flaps, but don't plan on upper control arms and don't want to remove the bumper plastics. Maybe a CB bumper shim would take care of it if I have an issue...

So, didn't go with the setup I was planning on because availability...

Fifteen52 Turbomac HD Classic - 17x8.5 et0 with Nitto Ridge Grappler's 285/75R17. Love the look, hate the rubbing on the front bumper. Gonna have to modify...
