I got some Icon Rebounds paired with 285/75r17 falken at4w. I noticed some wobble at 50mph and took it back to discount tire and they are saying that all 4 wheels are defective. I ordered straight from icon. Anyone else ever had this issue?

It could be me, but having all four wheels defective is pretty rare. What would the odds be?

    Second opinion?

Were the lugs tight and torqued?

Sounds like a fitment or wrong size issue to me. Do you still have the boxes so that you can take a picture of the label and post it?

    Are the wheels hubcentric?

You could also try a different Discount Tire store. I once had an issue where my steering wheel was shaking really badly from misbalanced tires. The store claimed that all mud terrains do that. I then went to a different Discount Tire store and they properly balanced the wheels/tires and the shaking disappeared.

I agree, I find it very odd. I think I should go get a second opinion at a different shop.

Everything was torqued to my knowledge. I will post a picture when I get the chance.

For more information, I ordered the tires through discount tire and the wheels straight from icon then had discount install both. They "balanced" them then sent me off. Thats where I noticed the wobble at higher speeds. I brought it back the next day and they tried again. They guy took me in to show me that the wheel didn't have a smooth rotation and it did look like it had a wobble to it. Then told me that the other 3 had the same issue but not as bad. They said they can balance them out the best they can. I don't feel any wobble anymore. I will try a different shop and see what they say. Im hoping if there is an issue that icon can work with me since I have no way of sending the wheels back and still being able to drive. I just find it odd all 4 are defective. Boxes weren't damaged in shipping either.

Do you have the boxes? Or any type of order info? We want to see if the hub size is correct.

I have purchased a set of defective tires that would never balance right. Never seen that with wheels, but it could happen. Seems improbable all 4 would be defective. It is much more prevalent with tires. As a matter of fact, got Cooper xlts a few years ago from Discount tire. Went back about 5 times over 9k miles trying to get them to balance....and also one was replaced due to sidewall cracks. At 9k miles on them, DT finally said they were defective, gave me full credit and I got different tires that were perfect, no ssues.

Assuming you got the right wheels, hub centric vs lug centric....I would expect it is an improper balance job or a tire defect. Check part number on your rims to confirm, just because they bolt on doesn't mean they truly fit.....tundras need hub centric.

I would do a balance at another shop and see where you end up. Mounting and balance of large tires is like front end alignment....it can be kind of an art vs just following instructions so an inexperienced tech can sometimes not get it right.
