In all seriousness, my guess is the tie rod vibrated loose from the rack end because about 2 years ago we took it out and never torqued it to spec after putting it back in. Just gave it some good hand-tightening and it held in since until now.

They were back at camp. Luckily, I had all my own tools to fix it and drive back.

You hit the wrong mode. Your supposed to select sand, not snow. Everybody knows you can't "pizza" in the sand to slow down.

Was this at speed, or at a slower speed? Glad you didn't destroy the rig and that your safe!

This happened after I slowed down to cruise a little the last few miles to camp but I was playing it fast and loose a few minutes before this.

Depending on your speed you are probably lucky you weren't on the pavement

Might need to disconnect the battery for that one!

Actually, looks like his Tundra is just trying to mimic a crab!

Glad nothing serious happened as a result of this. Hate to think what could have been under different circumstances.

Wow. Thankfully you were not driving this down the highway at 75 mph.

I tow my toys for this very reason...

I see what your doing here... When the GMC breaks down, you'll most likely get one of those two Chrysler's to fire up and get you the rest of the way. :stirthepot:

    I’m really screwed then!

I’ll just call the space shuttle pullers to help out.
