I have the non JBL crewmax factory audio system. I was in the market for a good and budget friendly 5 channel amplifier to buy. Can anyone provide me with suggestions? Pictures of your setup would be appreciated as well.

    thanks

setup looks good but i’m trying my best to condense everything into just one amplifier unit.

Ahh gotcha! Yeah I just looked and Rockford fosgate has a 5 channel amp that sounds like it would work!

I have had a 5 ch Rockford amp in my closet for a few years. I never used it because I wanted something different. It s a good amp, but it s for someone who isn t after a lot of power. It s a Prime R600X5 model. Basically it s four channels @ 50w @ 4 ohms, and a sub channel @ 200w @ 4 ohms. Or 75w @ 2 ohms, and 300w @ 2 ohms. This is the only one I m familliar with but there s many 5 ch amps to choose from.

Note: Uhh, I guess it s been discontinued. They may still be on the market though.
    WoofersEtc is still selling it.

If you are after more power there s the Power Acoustic RZ5-2500D
    This one will give you 4Ch @ 100w, and sub ch @ 400w @ 4 ohms, or 4 ch @ 150w, and sub ch @ 600w @ 2 ohms.

Do yourself a favor and get the Kicker kxa800.5 and 2 KISL cables. It has built in hi/lo crossovers so you don’t need anything else but the amp. It’s a little bit more expensive but not needing a dedicated crossover box is worth it.

Also, talk to James at tech12volts. He will fix you up with whatever budget you are working with.

The kicker amp you suggested cost $200.00 more than the Rockford, but has the same specs as the rockford. How do you justify the cost differential?

Your signature says it all....RF makes good stuff but I wanted to go with something that was currently available. I dont like buying high dollar discontinued electronics from 3rd party Amazon sellers with zero support. Ive always been a huge fan of Kicker and their support is top notch so that also played into my purchase decision.

Whatever dude. You know what I think? I think f*ck support. Learn what you need to learn and support will be inconsequential. The amp I suggested is a quality amp, and it s still available to purchase, though from not any seller; just those who still have it in stock. So what if it s discontinued. They all become discontinued at some point. That doesn t mean they are shyt. There are plenty of old school car amps that are very sought after. Why? Because they were quality products. .

I have a Kenwood Excelon X801-5, but now there is a newer model out. You should still be able to find one though
Connected to AudioControl Line output converter LC7i.

If you are keeping the Entune Head Unit you will need something to clean up the signal before it reaches the amp.

    None yet!
Is that what the converter does? Cleans up the signal? Explain pls, I'm ignorant of these things.

I went with a JBL Stadium 5 from Tech12Volts as it was comparatively cheap, and more than enough power for what I needed. Have been very happy with it.

Yes Exactly correct. It also has accubass feature. A lot of factory head units "roll off" or turn down the bass automatically as you turn up the volume, to protect the cheaper factory speakers.

You could upgrade a little from the LC7i and get a DQ-61.
Has more options and provides equalization and signal delay along with accuBass

I think others can explain it better than I or look up those items on Crutchfield.

    Im pretty bad at explanations...lol

What happens if the amp dies after 6 months..? $369 in the trash. I don’t know who pissed in your Cheerios this morning but I wasn’t looking for any argument. Was just recommending an amp that worked for me. Not sure why you got so argumentative about it.

If you buy a new unit from an authorized seller, (WoofersEtc is an authorized seller), the one year warranty still applies, so you are incorrect to imply otherwise. If the amp did break Rockford Fosgate would replace it with the newer unit that replaced the R600X5; the R2-750X5.

Very nice set up with the ESP storage. That’s what I had in mind but debating because I could really use that extra bit of storage.
    Looks great!

I went with Taco Tunes 5 channel amp with PNP harness. I know they get some bad reviews on here but I have no problems with it. I did not use their mounting plate. The only problem I had was getting the tuning cd to work. I went back to the old days and just tuned by ear. I put Infinity Kappa xovers in front doors and a 10" shallow sub behind rear seat. To my 64 year old ears the sound is a huge improvement. I have not replaced the rear speakers because I rarely have anyone in back seat.

Do you have experience with this amp and/or brand? I like the idea of a 5 channel amp and this one is a decent amount less expensive than others that I have looked at.

    https://www.amazon.com/Power-Acoustik-RZ52500D-Class-Amplifier/dp/B015O6ZJH8

$142 on Amazon is hard to beat.

Looking through the dyno on YouTube. Those power acoustik brand aren't very true to their claim. They are always under their rated claim.

I'd stick with kenwood, pioneer, alpine, and such of main stream brand.

I just purchased a pioneer gm d9705, used. $191 shipped off ebay.

Alternatively you can get this one for decent price, eventhough it is refurbished, it comes with a 1 yr warranty. Brand is nvx. It dyno above its rating.
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/303711181213

Not bad for $200 shipped. This was my 2nd choice.

    Or this brand new kenwood.

I did, at least for now. I like my music but I'm not an audiophile, so unless/until it just completely fails or gives me a reason to replace it, I've got no issues with it.

X2 on that, had a RF Punch 150 back in the 80’s...best amp I ever owned.
