I like my 2023 Tundra

So I don’t think we see enough of this on the forum but I like my 23 Tundra with the 2 inch lift and larger tires. It looks like a truck, tows great and gets decent gas mileage (14-15). It’s been really good so far. That’s just an opinion.

 

I like mine too, the screen, cameras, a/c seats, rear window roll down, bed step, bed rail hook things, foldy mirrors, on boarding seat things….it all comes together to make a really really nice truck to use, to me, it’s pretty thoughtful.

Driving I like how if you don’t press the brake hard the auto start doesn’t happen. Also if you want to pass someone up or speed up on the highway, you can shift over to manual mode and it seems to automatically downshift or unlock the torque converter enough so you don’t have to guess with your right foot just hitting the throttle…I feel like they engineered a few “work arounds” like that.

Have not towed yet (anything ever) but I can’t wait to try/learn.

 

Mine has been a good one so far! It isn’t a 2023 but an old 2022.

Not too many miles on it but have decked it out and used it for many towing trips.

Going to have to switch to heavier oil to keep the bearings happy!

Yeah man good thread, we need a little more of this actual positive feed back vs the typical rant and hatred towards the 3rd gens.

This is my first Toyota truck & coming from Chevys with V8 displacement power I wasn't to sure what to expect with a TT6.but I love this truck and after 1 year 15K I have nothing but complete positive feed back on it,I love the overall stance the body style & contours of it is sexy as hell.
It has also been the best truck I have ever owned so far it has done everything I've needed of it and then some, sometimes when driving in Sport+ mode and slip it into manual shifting you can pull each gear for what it's worth and you forget (briefly) your in a 6,000 pound truck,you can be going comfortably at 20 turn onto a side road hit the gas and next thing you know is your going slideways around that corner.
I really don't know or care why there are so many haters out there (or maybe just here) but I get stoped asked or get the head nod of approval from complete strangers, this thing rocks!

 

I love my ‘23 SR5 TRD Sport package. Big screen, the nicer seats and a little peppy when I step on the gas! Knock on wood, no issues.

 

Add me to this list. 10000 miles in & no complaints other than a couple of recalls. Great to drive, comfortable ride & decent fuel mileage for a truck.

My first tundra, after 4 tacomas, & I ain't going back!

 

I’ve had several different Tundra models and they all have pros and cons but I’d say my 23 is the best all around for overall ride quality.

 

I’m at 15k miles and have been towing a 6000lb TT a good bit. No issues so far other than some water leaked in through the windshield. 91 octane always (not trying to start a debate). Contemplating 5w-20. Love the truck.

Add another to the list, I have been nothing but happy with my tundra since owning it. I also knew the hybrid was not going to give me the best gas mileage and I’m ok with that. But coming from a Tacoma, the space, no gear hunting, the useable bed, and the power are light years ahead. I’m happy with my truck and haven’t regretted it at all. Did love my Tacoma, but for my family it was a much needed upgrade!

 

Overall, I like mine so far as well. I really like the look of the gen 3 compared to the previous gen 2/2.5. And it doesn't bother me that it doesn't have the 5.7.

 

I've had my 24 for a month now and absolutely love it. I know there will likely be some issues at some point, but I'll deal with them as they come and when they come, and not look back........I love this truck!

I also love my 2024 Platinum HV. Only regret is not getting OEM deployable running boards and air bags, but apparently those are impossible to find on the west coast anyway for some reason, so oh well.

Towing is absolutely wonderful compared to my 2020 Tacoma.

Sport Mode in the hybrid is comically dangerous, so that's also cool.

Any lift? And what size tires are those? I want to keep the stock wheels and just get a beefier tire but having a hard time deciding on size.

 

I am very pleased with our '24 1794. Picked it up 14 May and drove 200 miles home; no squeaking brakes, rattles in the dash or windshield, wind noise around the doors, vibrations, lag or hesitation in throttle response. The only challenge I have is all the technology! I am by no means a "Luddite", but having been born in the first half of last century I'm not as adept in assimilating all the bells and whistles--but I'll get there. The only systems I see that are directly controlled by the driver are the windows and the steering--and I'm not too sure about those! Discovered yesterday that the sound system has an HD radio, which I have missed in the last two "premium level" GM products we've owned (2020 and 2023 Traverse Premiers). Performance is great; can't believe the way it accelerates for a 6000 lb truck. Interior appointments are on par or exceed the level I've seen on more expensive competitors. Best value for the price that I have encountered!

Love to see posts like this! Any issues during the 2 year/96k ownership? It's refreshing to hear good things about our trucks rather than mostly bad.

 

Really like mine too after a somewhat disappointing start with rear diff failure at 1,100 miles. But I have to say the dealer was great about it and resolved the issue quickly (even took care of my second FOB debacle)! I’ve had several different Tundra models and they all had pros and cons...more pros on this one now.

 

Love my 22. Ticks every box, tows like a champ, rides great, Hybrid is a bonus.

EDIT: Forgot wife loves it....and after bitching about my 2012 Platinum....it's a win-win

I've only had my 2024 Platinum for 5 weeks, and I absolutely love it...I think I love this thread even more though.

 

It is amazing and an eye opener for many how fast this truck is. Just heard this from a friend. No doubt as a Safety person, I always drive safe.

Coming up on 2 years of ownership in June of my ‘22 TRD OR Tundra. Really love the truck. Power, comfort, tech, looks great. I still look back at it often when it gets parked and think, “nice ride”!
