I guess my '21 is no longer new....really. First, she received hail damage 6 months off the lot. Now, we unfortunately ran into an unlicensed driver in a parking lot at a low speed. I was thinking about repairing myself until I read some of the threads on here about the front end cap replacements.

I guess I will take it down to a collision shop and see which cost hurts the most before I make up my mind.

    Damn!

I'd be getting an aftermarket bumper. I keep waiting for someone to rear end me to get the back bumper I want

This would be very easy to fix/replace yourself. The bumpers on the tundras come off with only 8 bolts and once off you can easily replace the cap or do whatever else needs done. Not complicated at all.

If you want it to look new again you can get a new bumper cap. You'd need to buy one paint matched or get it paint matched. They are stupidly expensive for what they are. Looks like you'd also need the body piece that goes above that as well.

If you aren't super picky about the looks (its a truck, its likely to get more dents sooner or later) you can take the bumper off and beat out the dent from the inside. Use a rubber mallet as the contact point and another hammer to hit the mallet. Some of the scratching on there also looks like it might be paint transfer. You can get that off with a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

Or you can buy a ranch hand or other aftermarket bumper, which is what I did. People will generally stay out of your way, and even if they don't, they won't leave more than a surface level scratch. I paid 700$ on facebook marketplace for mine minus 100$ I sold my stock bumper for (it had a few scratches and stuff on it, wasn't the nicest). You'd likely get closer to 300 for your stock bumper.

I will be in Austin this weekend. If I see your truck I will honk lol

These bumpers bend easy and are not a cheap fix especially when the plastic is also damaged. However, a fair body shop can fix the damage easy!

That looks epic. I have been very casually looking for a really stout push bar (don't have the budget for it now) for my truck and haven't found anything yet. Mostly to dissuade aggressive drivers from trying anything funny with me. The reduction in damage I'll sustain in a low speed accident isn't bad either

Another vote for Ranch hand. The Summit bullnose model looks good with a few inches of lift. Don't be fooled by any pics.

Looks like the damage was minor. The estimate was $700 bucks.

Had the same issue, dude backed into me when I was parked. Purchased a new bumper cap and the panel below the light from Toyota. Then had a body shop do the paint, they installed and it looked factory. Was around 1K.

I thought about this option, but I went through the insurance. It cost me $700 to repair it. It goes in on Monday morning to replace the parts. Hopefully, I can keep it clean after this episode.
