    - Truck is 5 weeks old. Just hit 1100 miles. Still smiling like the first day I bought it every single time I get in.
    - Zero issues.
    - Still averaging 19-20 MPG combined while on 35's.
    - Wouldn't even think to go back to my Gen 2 (or 2.5, same damn thing).
    - The amount of power over previous gen, especially in the low end, still surprises me and puts a smile on my face with how effortless it immediately pulls.

I know just making this thread and being happy with my Gen 3 gets under the skin of so many of you who lurk this section, so it had to be done.

    Have a good one.

What kind of driving are you doing to average those MPG’s? I’m in the 15 range

I don’t know. I just drive in normal mode.
Even around town I’m getting 17-18.
I don’t drive like an old man, but my foot isn’t in it every time I leave a red light or stop sign either.
Roughly 200 mile trip on Friday. Probably 75% hwy, 25% stop and go and I averaged 20.7.

Maybe. But I also didn’t buy the first year of an entirely new truck and not expect a bump in the road. If something happens, I knew it was a possibility before I bought the truck. :notsure:

Gotcha, I try to lay off the gas but this truck is just too smooth and I end up pushing it.

Love this thread! So many negative posts that can make an expecting owner regret their decision. Good to see a positive one. Mine should be coming in next week if SET estimates are accurate.

And that’s exactly why I made it.
Too many new accounts coming in just to post issues.
No one is making threads to say how happy they are with their Gen 3.

    Happy for you my dude!

I bought mine with the expectation of being this happy. I love my Tundra but unfortunately about to be Lemon Lawed. Even so, hoping to replace it with a working Tundra.

    I’ll play, just passed 10k miles…
    - a couple small trim issues, all resolved under warranty
    - no rattles or squeaks, everything still as tight as day 1
    - love how quiet it is, don’t have to shout (unless I want to) when on the phone
    - auto running boards and tailgate set are worth what I paid, my knees are thanking me
    - sound system waaay better than my old ‘14
    - recently had the ‘14 for a day and half and it felt old, slow, bouncy, and noisy.
    - less fatigue during the 300+mi days
    - hauls 1000lb pallets with ease, no Carolina squat, pulls much harder than the 5.7
    - it’s replaced the LC as the family hauler cause I enjoy driving it more
    - I use the HUD and Toyota Nav more than other app maps, but will still use waze on the long drives for the police ahead alerts
    - 14” screen infotainment hasn’t frozen or blanked on me (fingers crossed), the old Entune system was plain junk
    - love the wide upper door shelf, I rest my left arm on all the time
    - have used the PVM more times I can count to get out of tight spots
    - no longer need to pull the strap to lift up the rear seats, just lift
    - no more gated shift gate
    - no longer need to use the rear door to store straps, tools, whatever- it’s all in the under seat storage now. Keeps the cab and bed nice and clean

I have a laundry list of stuff wrong with mine, 47 days in the shop so far, but I have said in numerous threads, I still like it. I just think it's the nature of this type of forum, people looking for solutions....or if nothing else, misery loves company

I would much rather read a post like yours than some of the repetitive drivel that the same handful of people keep posting.

I'll agree on the gas mileage, mine is doing fairly well also. I'd say I average 19-19.5 driving mostly secondary roads; it seems to be getting a little better. I have yet to burn a whole tank or even close with strictly highway miles. I'm sure it would be in the low 20's.

It’s Very nice to see a thread like this one. Especially for those of us with a Gen 3 on order and on the way! I’ve noticed that most of the folks bashing the new model own the prior gen trucks :boink:

Although I don't own the new 3rd Gen, I really enjoy hearing about the good, the bad, and the ugly of any new truck, thought that's what a forum was all about. I don't understand all the vitriol towards those amongst us who bought one and posted their problems after spending lots of their hard earned dough on one.

This thread really is music to my ears, because I do hope to outlive my ‘08. Yes, 1st model years of any new generation are more prone to issues, but I still hope Toyota comes through with long-term fixes like they typically have in the past.

I’ve seen a few third-gens in person, and member’s photos, and I do think that they look much, much better in both cases than Toyota themselves depicted them.

That's terrible, I haven't even gotten that low when I drive my wife around and spend half the day waiting in the truck with the AC running, lol. Hopefully your truck is new and just needs a little breaking in. I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but my mileage seems much better now then when it was new and I just passed the 5,000 mile mark.

I guess it’s some sort of way to justify why they haven’t upgraded to the Gen 3. I don’t really understand it. If you’re so happy with your previous Gen Tundra, why do you get so much joy from the hand full of Gen 3’s with issues?

You're delusional and uninformed if you think there are only a handful of Gen 3 problems.
There are so many issues with the GEN 3 you felt you needed to brighten everyone's day that you haven't ANY, yet.

Good luck with your truck and welcome to the forum..

Does the 3rd gen suffer the same problem as our 2nd gens, with assholes in car parking lots slamming their skanky Camry's doors into the paintwork?

I lease, I had 2011, 2015, 2018, and a 2020. I have 1500 miles on mine so far and no issues other than sometimes when I open my drivers door from the inside the handle kind of clicks and a very small loose noise in that area. That will get addressed first oil change. I absolutely love everything about this truck. I truly feel Mike Swears and Company checked off every box and so much more that we all wished our trucks had and I absolutely loved my other Tundras. I too was questioning a lot when it first came out but I will admit I was totally wrong. This is an absolutely beautiful truck, that is turning heads everywhere I go. When i drove my old Tundras the way i drive, my average was 14 mpg, 16 on the highway. I’m getting 17 right now and 20ish on the highway driving the same way. It drives amazing and I look forward to putting lots of miles on it. So glad the JBL finally rocks, seriously crank November Rain!!! I haven’t driven other brands but I can’t see how this isn’t one of the best and most unique trucks out there. Loving it!!!

Nah, definitely just a hand full.
Nothing but a loud minority taking to every forum and Facebook group they can find to post about their problem.
The other 99% of owners with zero issues aren’t making Facebook posts and new forum threads about how happy they are with their truck every day.

Btw, why are you so upset? Jealous? Lol
You can always upgrade your 14 to a Gen 3.

I was passed by a new '22 on the interstate a couple of days ago and I must say that it was very easy on the eye. Note that he only passed me because I've recently discovered a whole new world of higher gas returns if I observe the posted limits.
