Wow did you find it that way?? I think this may help, double check:

edit*: the list below looks less confusing

Do you have a mutimeter to check the at least a few of the colors listed in the link above, like test for 12V, 12V acc, etc. ?

    Ground Brown
    Illumination Green
    Dimmer n/a
    Antenna Right Front
    Left Front (+) Pink
    Left Front (-) Purple
    Right Front (+) Light Green
    Right Front (-) Blue
    Left Rear (+) Black

This is a guide only. Some wire colors may not be 100% correct. This looks less confusing than the other link I sent.

I'm not sure what you mean, you tried the diagram? Can you see if the yellow is reading 12v always?

I guess if you dont have a DMM, you could grab the lightbulb out of your, say, dome light and connect the yellow and brown at the two ends and it should turn on. The grey brown will turn the bulb on when you have the key to acc position.

The harness you have has everything labelled, you just have to make sure that the color code I listed is correct and then create a connection: twist together and electrical tape all the way to solder or other options in between.

So you tried using that list and what exactly happened?

Do you have a meter to determine the power connections?

After confirming the power the speakers should be pretty simple really.

The stock unit got power but me being impatient just went ahead and cut it instead of getting a adapter harness but when I connect the wires like it says and all the other diagrams I’ve tried it won’t turn on

So I take it you do not have a meter or test light of any kind?
If you really did cut the connector off maybe you should check the radio fuse as you might have shorted it and blown the fuse when cutting the connector off?

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

The stereo on 1st Gens will not power up until you replace the all the connectors on that panel like the ones for the A/C controls. Is it possible you had the wires properly connected but had yet to plug everything else back in?

And this is my last try,do you have a way to test for power?

You seem incapable of seeing this simple question?

How did you determine that the fuses were OK?

What made this seem like a good idea to you in the first place too?

So you also have no way to check fuses?

Go buy a cheap meter and then you can actually see what is happening, maybe?

You can use a bulb like I mentioned above to see if you are getting 12V and 12V acc.

If you cut the factory harness plug off I would solder it back on for starters. If you cut the wires too close to the plug you can order a reverse harness.

Pretty certain you have the power all wired up incorrectly, hence why the deck doesn't start. What you need to first find ignition and constant power and you can easily do that...with a $5.00 test light. Just because the factory wiring has a black, yellow, and red wire does not mean those correspond to the same colors for the deck. You need to realize that first.

    This many help you:

Here's the diagram from the FSM but go buy a test light or multi tester anyway.

Harbor Freight 20% off coupon - get yourself a meter and a test light for less than the cost of lunch. The diagram Festerw posted should be helpful and as AZTundra suggested, start over by reconnecting the factory connector, if you still have it.

    And, welcome to the forum!

Good thing is @Ashtonp25 is trying to figure it out even with us busting his balls pretty good. Seems like he can make it happen starting with the advice above and reporting back.
