IMG_5993.png Hey there! I'm sure the gas mileage joke hasn't been used enough on here :). I bought my 2011 double cab back in March and so far I love it. I went from a 2015 rav4 which I also love to the tundra (my wife has the rav now). I will be very upfront about costs since that is what I would like to know. When I bought it the truck had about 139,000 miles and the purchase price was $14,750. Right away I put on new Kumho Road Venture tires that ran me $1,100 installed. I put on new front brake calipers, rotors and pads from 1A auto which I think ran a bit over $300. There were a few other little things I did right away like buffing the headlights but not much else. The one other big thing I did was get the bed rust fixed which is a problem many of the second gen tundras in the rust belt have (I live in wisconsin). I plan on doing a post about that in the thread I saw about bed rust already created on here. I'm writing this while at work (shhh!) and I'm looking for a pic of my truck but realize I only have one from when I just bought it. The truck in the picture has different tires and foggy headlights but I'll post it anyway. People really seem to like the bumper, which was on it when I bought it. Looking forward to bouncing questions off of you folks and hopefully helping answer some myself!IMG_5993.png

I have the 5.7. I'm getting about 13.5 on my commute to work and back which is about 10 miles and a mix of city and country (45mph) roads. Mine does have a lift, I think 3", and 33" all terrain tires. How about yours?

I average around 20 mixed driving. If I'm trying harder, 22. Mine's rear wheel 4.6L. I have about 137k miles on odo.

People give me poop around here because they think I'm going to work and back downhill both ways.

If you're getting 20-22, that would be correct:p

Wowza! That is really good for a second gen. If I could get upper teens I would be ecstatic. I knew what I was getting into though so I can't complain.

Welcome, and that is a sharp-looking truck despite the foggy headlights. I have a 2021 DC with M/T style tires and get about 15.5 to 16 if I drive downhill and backward. I just ordered a set of Falken Wild Peaks and should get them installed tomorrow. I am hoping that might help my mileage some, but I won't hold my breath.

Thanks baker! Reddawg, how do you live with mud tires on yours? Mine came with m/ts and that was the very first thing I changed. I found the all terrains an awesome choice that were semi aggressive looking but still very quiet on the road. Given, I do almost all pavement driving. When I test drove the truck with mud tires I thought something was wrong with it lol.

M/T tires are definitely not made for the pavement. I’ve had the truck about a month and am looking forward getting the wild peak AT3 installed. The drone of those MTs is the worst. I’ll finally be able to listen to the radio!
