So I have an 01 limited, 281,000 miles. I bought it at 200,000 from a guy 10 years ago and he wasn’t sure if the starter had ever been replaced. I have some long trips planned later this year and as part of my vehicle rehab, I’m going to preemptively replace the starter. I will be using an OEM starter. I’ve watched a ton of videos on this project and while a little intimidating, I believe I can do it.

what I’m wondering is, while I’m in there, what else should I replace? This is what I have on my list so far.

    1) OEM starter
    2) OEM knock sensor
    3) OEM intake gaskets
    4) clean intake with carbon cleaner and just clean anything I can/vacuum, etc.
    5) one video suggested removing a “coolant crossover” of some sort over the back of the starter and its gaskets. Anyone had any advice on that?

Any suggestions on where to buy online to get legit OEM parts is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
