A little of this and a little of that.
Has been installed. I replaced my front amber turn signal bulbs w/ LED switchbacks. I installed a load resistor inline on the passenger side and there’s no hyper flash. I went over to the driver’s side (using the same colored wires as the passenger side) to install the load resistor and it still hyper flashes.

Any of you smart people know what it could be?? You do need a 6 Ohm load resistor on each side (passenger & driver’s), right?

So I disconnected the load resistor on the driver’s side and am just going to drive hyper flashing all around until I figure out what the heck is wrong.

Both sides aren’t gonna be the sale color except the white with black.
Load resistor does not go on the purple forsure.

So load resistor with white & black stripe

    And pink on one side
And red on the other side if I’m correct

Also check that the resistor shouldn't be installed in parallel rather than series... You can use either so long as the resistor is the right size for each application

There’s purple on both sides of my 16’. On the passenger side I connected the pink wire and the white wire w/ a black stripe to the load resistor. Left the purple wire out of it.

On the driver’s side there’s a red wire, white wire w/ black stripe and a purple wire. I used the Red and the white for the load resistor, still no dice. Hence my confusion.

There’s really only one choice of wires to connect the resistor to on each side. I used a 6 ohm resistor is what I was told to use. I know its half right as the passengers side works correctly now with the new switchback bulb installed.

Put the pass side resistor on driver and see if it works. Then you know it’s a bad resistor

A little of this and a little of that.

Would it be stupid to cut the RED & WHITE wires then add a third resistor wire and twist them all together using a wire nut to make sure the connection is good?

I could also cut the red and white wires and solder them together with the resistor inline and heat shrink them together.

I’Lloyd go to AutoZone then. They all look the same but I’m sure you get what you pay for. I’m off to AutoZone, thanks, didn’t know they carried those.

Called the Auto Zone right down the street and the guy who answered swore they didn’t carry them. After checking he found them. WOW! Maybe he is new at his job.

that is a good idea for after you verify the wires are correct. you can just twist them together while testing. Remember they will act different depending on what configuration your truck is in. I don't want to add confusion but do all the testing the same way(key switch position and parking brake on or off). Also remember those things will get super hot and to screw them into metal when you mount them(behind the panel below the headlight is a perfect location. If you have OCD and you want to go way overboard with the install they sell a paste that will help with the heat transfer from the resistor to the mount location. If all else fails watch the Headlight Revolution video on the install....he breaks it down to make it super simple.

Ok guys update, worked on it some more this evening and after buying the Sylvania Load Resistors I installed one of them directly to the pink wire and white wire w/ black stripe via stripping part of the wire and soldering it directly to the red wire and the white wire.

Unfortunately I still have a hyper flash. It must be the rear passenger side LED bulb as I never put a load resistor in that stupid bulb. That’s gotta be it.

This is the only reason I have not done this yet. I don't want to tap/cut into the wrong wires unless I know for sure which ones to add the resistors to. Looking forward to the outcome though

UPdate for you guys: I took my daughter to school this morning with my hyper flashers working. Let me back up, late last night, after we installed the Sylvania load resistor on the passenger side, I only installed the passenger side load resistor since it wasn’t working in my driveway. I buttoned up the front end and came in the house.

Fast Forward to this morning. While taking my daughter to school I used the passenger side turn signal 3-4 times and all the sudden the passenger side works fine, no hyper flash on the passenger side of the truck. (Still hyper flash on the drivers side since there’s no load resistor there). It’s like the truck had to cycle through a few times while moving in order to make it work. WTH. Oh well, at least I’ve got one side functioning properly.

Now to tear apart the entire front end again to install the Sylvania load resistor on the drivers side. I’m getting good at tearing apart the front end. I can do it in a couple of minutes and that’s not even rushing.

Here is the video you need to watch. Just make sure your in wifi range and you should have no problems. they cover a couple options for turn signals but the switchback is in there.

Ahh, it’s amber for now but it’s supposed to be white. I believe by not having the drivers side w/ a load resistor it’s making them not function properly. That’s at least what I found out last night w/ the passenger side.
