I've got a 2019 SR5 I've had since May. Twice now the HVAC system (manual, no ATC) has failed to start when the vehicle is started; no blower, no mode lights. If I move the blower control knob it instantly comes on. Even though this is a manual system I suspect it is still computer controlled and is failing to initialize for some reason. Having only happened twice it's not a big problem but wondering if anyone has heard of it before. Didn't find anything in a forum search.

It should still be under warranty right? Let the dealership deal with it. It should come on at whatever setting you left it at when truck is shut off.

Absolutely, I'm just wanting to know if someone has experienced this before and whether it got resolved. I say this since my dealer is 85 miles away and this kind of intermittent problem is hard to pinpoint.

I had the same happen to my 19 TRD Pro a couple of times but haven't had the stealership chase it down.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not too concerned unless it gets more frequent.

If the knob is turned all the way to the left that’s the off position. No lights or anything will happen until you turn the knob to the right.

I’ve had the same exact thing happen to my 2019 Pro one time. Freaked me out a bit until, like you, I turned the fan speed knob and it came right on. I haven’t mentioned it to the dealer as it only happened the one time. Probably the only way to find out what’s wrong would be to have it fail and not come back on, then let the stealership track it down.

This time of year I usually leave the fan speed up between 3/4's and full. Both times it happened the fan speed was up and it was set to a/c or max a/c. Moving the fan control even slightly causes it to come on.

Thanks, I'll casually mention this on the next service but I'm going to guess they will not find anything until it fails. And it may never fail. The service manager at my dealer is pretty sharp, if I find out anything I'll let you know.

My buddy had a similar issue several times with his ‘17 SR5. Sometimes the truck had to be shut down and restarted for the fan to kick on. Never could duplicate it at the dealer, and it seemed to go away over time.

That's encouraging. Maybe it'll go away on it's own.

My 15 SR5 did this fairly frequently.
