Headed down south from Clearwater to Fort Myers to help with the cleanup. A semi truck on the opposite side of the road kicked something up into the air and smashed me right in the corner. Brutal.

So sorry this happened! But awesome of you to be helping others. I’m convinced this will be covered under your liability insurance. I’d work with them right away if you’re not already

That's a tough spot to get damage since it's essentially on 2 panel creases at the very end of the quarter panel. I'm not sure if technology has changed a bunch, but in the old days this would require a replacement panel & paint matching.

Your hood should be easy to fix.

Let us know how it turns out!

Thanks for the consolation. Unfortunately, my insurance is considering as collision and my $1000 deductible will have to be paid. So at this point, I’m pushing for all new panels.

Just wondering if a ding doctor (paint less ding repair) could fix that. They can do wonders

So, guessing it may depend from insurance to insurance company, but I know of someone that got hit with airborne debris (key word - airborne) and their insurance considered it as a claim against comprehensive since they didn’t cause the object to be flying. Saved them a bit on deductible and didn’t count against them as an accident. May be something to pursue if the object was flying when it hit you.

This 100% should be comprehensive. Fight it and if you stay with the company get quotes for a lower deductible. Usually changing your comp ded has little effect on your premiums.
