Howdy all, been a long time lurker here but wanted to join the forum in that I'm lost as to what the right path is for my suspension question. Here goes:

2016 Tundra TRD Pro. Finally upgrade wheels and tires to a set of Method 305 NV with 0 offset, fitted with Nitto 35" x 12.5" Trail Grapplers. And surprise, I'm rubbing the body mount on the frame. I will be installing new bumpers next weekend, and I already trimmed out the front bumper. It's driveable, but I gotta be careful when turning. I've only had the tires on for 3 days.

Here is what I'm waiting to install as a temp bandaid: Westcott 1.5" leveling kit. It seems that almost everyone hates these, so this will be an improvement along with an alignment until I can get this sorted out.

Here is the grey spot on the map, knowing I mostly likely am wrong on this:

My guess is I will need a lift kit of approximately 2.5" in the front and maybe 2" in the rear to be level.

I also guess I will need new UCA's to make this work.

Where I'm lost is that the Pro's sit higher than factory Tundras, so I have no idea if the lift kits will actually lift my Pro.

    I have my eye on:

    • Eibach PRO-TRUCK-LIFT Stage 2R for my truck, and maybe Dirt Kings UCAs

    • 3 Inch Lift Kit | FOX 2.0 Coil-Over | Toyota Tundra (07-21) 2/4WD

Final note on driving style; I mostly slow cruise on the trail with a bit of light rock crawling out here in the Southwest. I don't jump or speed around; she ain't no Raptor. I want full suspension travel for these 35's. I'm also confident I will need to trim the body mount. I simply have no idea what suspension setup to go with.

Guidance on this will be immensely appreciated.

    Steve in Vegas.

It’s your wheel/ tire combo (both the 12.5” width and 0 offset) that is the cause of your rubbing.

find a good off road shop or fabricator to do the body mount chop and weld some plates on for you.

the TRD Pro is already sitting “level” with a 2” lift up front from the other tundra trims.
3” or more will require new UCAs maybe a bearing drop kit.

If this is now more confusing, go to the search bar and type “body mount chop” or “cab mount chop/plates” and put on a pot of coffee. You can probably keep your current suspension if the fabricator is good and you have a good alignment shop to adjust.
    Good luck.

Thanks all. Yeah, did quite a bit of reading last night and I can get the BMC done no problem with the welded plate. I got all excited with the wheel and tire combo that I've obviously painted myself into a corner. With 81,000 on the 2016, I was rolling around the 3" BDS kit in that I would get new shocks, UCA, and the other bits and pieces. My guess is that it would help some, ride better than factory out on the trail, and pair it with the BMC mod. Now, I see the jury here is split on the front dif drop kit. I find that interesting, yet after some reading, it seems like questionable mod.

I'm gonna start with the BMC and go from there, but I think new / better UCA's would help.

Got it squared away. BDS / Fox 2.5 to the rescue.
