Can anyone direct me to a wire harness that would be compatible for an A.R.E Aluminum camper onto my 1st gen Tundra for the brake light, or a link to someone already doing this project?

I figure it won't be too tough to run a wire through the car, but am wondering what is a compatible part and how to connect to battery.

When I had a cap on a previous tundra I used a 4 flat trailer plug inside the bed so the wires could be disconnected easily.

Used the four wires as two pairs.

One pair for a ground, and tapped off the hot behind the driver brake light.

The other pair for a ground and direct 12v feed from the battery for a dome light.

    hope this helps.

Since I only need that light when I am not towing, I wired it to a 4 way trailer plug and plug it into the trailer plug.

ARE sells a universal harness to connect the shell to your battery for dome light/power port purposes. Then you just tap into tail light wiring for the third brake light. Check with your local ARE dealer, they probably have one on hand.
