I've been off roading various Trucks SUVs ATVs dirt bikes, etc for a couple decades now.
My tundra is the first vehicle with electronics that override my foot (not cool).
I took it up a steep hill with loose rock and holes, etc. A hill I've hit many times in my old Pathfinder.
A little momentum is a great tool in the hill climb tool box IMO.

Anyway when I gunned the tundra to start this hill (4Hi) I think the traction control kicked in, it dialed down my foot input bigtime. I did make it to the top barely, but it was not a pleasurable experience, and lucky at that. Backing down this hill would have been major pucker.

What is the easy way to prevent this, and let my foot do the work? Is this the "hold the trac-control button for 3 seconds from a dead stop" thing? No way to accomplish this on the fly?
And no, I have not read the manual.
    Cheers
    Bob

    1. Truck in park
    2. Push trac button (short press)
    3. Push and hold trac button for 3 secs (I believe)

The owner's manual seems to be a forgotten must read.

I think the info is more reliable from the manufacture than from a forum. No offense.

But what if there is a typo in the manual? But then again the only way of knowing that is to read the manual. A Catch-22...

Tens of thousands of young people graduate from our government run indoctrination camps (schools) every year that can’t read at a competent level.

Thankfully I can declare "Ramming Speed" without being in park; not to mention less thinking involved.
I'll have to test if the various button presses can be de-activated on the fly...
Might have to get used to the truck driving for me too - though it is unsettling.

Easy....put it in 4lo and it just crawls up it. No need for unnecessary speed that chews up tires and possibly damage other things. Air down tires and you’d be amazed at how much more traction and comfort it gives you. Just take it easy, 4lo engages full retard mode or maximum torque.
