How to clear BSM code? I had one of my mirrors break and I replaced it with a non BSM mirror. I’m a grown man and I can check my blind spot but it’s a bit annoying to have the car tell me to go to Maintenance all the time. anyway to disable them?

You can buy a Bluetooth Veepeak OBD2 adapter on Amazon and get the OBD Fusion app on your smart phone. Then download the advanced diagnostics package for your model year Toyota in the application. This will let you read more than just the basic check engine codes and clear them. As long as the error doesn’t come back then you’re good, but if you still have a fault in the system then you’ll continue to get the error. You could try turning the BSM switch off and clearing the error but it may always come back given you have a non-BSM mirror installed now. Can’t say for sure.

I did this to clear an electronic parking brake malfunction code after I fucked up the electronic parking brake service mode procedure on my Highlander doing a brake job. Worked great.
