I have looked everywhere and have not been able to verify if the new tundras actually do come with full speed range Radar cruise control down to 0mph. My 22 platinum still hasn’t been delivered and I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the new system and wouldn’t mind posting how you like it. My Tacoma came equipped with a basic DRCC that would deactivate under 25mph. Not very useful in traffic.

It’s great, it does go to zero, stop and go traffic. Also I found that the Lane Tracing (Centering) works good too, and you can change that annoying beep into steering wheel vibrate mode. The wife never knows when your drifting over….ha

Haha that is great news, thank you for confirming it! I’m so glad they added that to these new trucks. It’s definitely a feature I was really hoping for. Unfortunately I live in Los Angeles where traffic is some of the worst in the nation

I can’t wait! The truck was built on 6/20 but unfortunately it’s still just sitting at the factory waiting on a train out and no idea when that will be ..

In the LTA settings when scrolling through the gauge display… (I think that’s where I found it)

I use mine all the time on the freeway. 0 to whatever its set at.

It does err on the side of gas saving tho. If traffic is slowing to a full stop ahead it’ll wait til the last minute to apply full braking.

I agree, if it would brake a little sooner and gradually, I wouldn't feel like my little woman was driving!

    LOL.

Joe Biden has until July 18th to declare a Presidential Emergency Board, otherwise RR employees are going on strike.

With any luck (for myself and my colleagues) you’re going to be in for quite a delay until we get a new contract.

water bottle in the steering wheel works great as well for a Tesla like driving experience on non curvy roads

Yes go to settings menu from your steering wheel and when you see the LTA on/off you just hold it for a minute and other settings for that pop up. Pretty much all the on/offs have other settings if you hold it down for a second

Its unfortunate to hear about the state of our railroads and RR workers. I know it’s a thankless job with long hours and very hard work. I know someone in the industry and they were just telling me that they have never seen it so bad. Also that cars are more likely to be damaged due to overworking the employees and that the hauling equipment is in bad shape. Just bad news all around it seems

Self inflicted wounds by short sighted greedy CEO’s.

They crow about their record profits every year, all while neglecting the men and equipment.

Apparently they also want to Start running one man train crews. Seems like a terrible idea

It’s a horrible idea, but that’s a discussion about operational realities that could take up way too much space here.

I didn't think my first post on this forum would be about the railroad...but I'm reading this thread and can't help but to comment. Twenty years working for CSX Transportation(four as a Conductor, sixteen as a Locomotive Engineer). The best thing I ever did was quit. December 27th, 2020, I'll never forget the day. I was so mad, so nervous, I felt like I was going to throw up! I walked into the Trainmaster's office with a filled out resignation form in hand. I asked him to witness my signature, handed him my CSX ID card, Locomotive Engineer License, and all the keys had. We called my union rep together, told him I just quit, and that was it. I shit you not, I threw my cell phone in a river on the drive home. Went to Verizon the next day, paid retail for a new phone with a new phone number, and I've never looked back. I was 47 when I quit. Overweight, smoked, almost to a divorce, had a five year old son that I'd missed two Christmases being there for him. F that!!!

I'm 49 now. New career where I make 3/4 of the amount of money, but only work 40 hours a week, all during the day. Off Saturday and Sunday. I've stopped smoking, I've dropped thirty pounds, and have a fantastic relationship with my wife and son now. I actually just won a 2022 Toyota Tundra Capstone through my work while on a fishing trip to Belize, that I also won through work.

I admire the hell out of the men and women who work on the railroad, because I just couldn't do it anymore...but my advice to anyone thinking about hiring on...hell no. Not for any amount of money. YOLO, don't waste it on the rails.
