There's nothing more annoying than to type an address and the truck doesn't recognize the address. Does anyone know how to update the software? Help!

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Toyota charges you to update the Nav. I don't use it. I use Waze with my Apple Car Play. Before I had built in nav, I used Waze on my phone, mounted so I could see it.

GPS updates for factory radios are a thing for the 00’s. These days your free and auto updating maps are found on your smart device. Spend the upgrade money on a good phone mount or a new HU.

I stopped doing that when I drove from Boston to Orlando and asked Google to avoid NYC specifically and the rest of 95 till around Georgia. Cost me 4 hours after I realized I'm on the bridge, in rush hour. Was listening to audio book and not paying much attention to the signs and bigger surroundings. On the trip to New Foundland it was rerouting all the time even when asked not to do so. Had to pay close attention to the app and catch it crapping the route before it cost us 200 extra miles. Ended up using Toyota navigation for the rest of the trip, worked reliably. In two horse arse wide Boston suburbs roads it reroutes like crazy. I'm stressed already navigating these tiny roads, and it finds "a better way" every minute? Missed a turn? It can drive you miles for the U-turn for no good reason, easy.

Google Maps was great, but not anymore.

    Welcome from North Florida!

This is typically done at the dealer for more money than it is worth. I know some people buy/trade updated SD cards but I havent tried this route.

Like others have said, I mounted my phone to my pillar so I can see the GPS easier than looking at the tundra screen. I also have a 2017.

There is no gps that works in that hell-hole of road salad that is Boston.

That's why I prefer Tundra in downtown. Can see far away over tiny cars, crazy people don't cut or tailgate, going over impassable obstacles is not a problem with high wall AT tires. I almost lost my teeth in Volvo this weekend in waist deep potholes, wish I've taken an offroad-ready Tundra.

A wrong turn in Boston can cost you an hour. Do not enjoy driving there. At all.

Next quickest U-turn on I-93 can easily be in New Hampshire.

They stopped making new ones of these I imagine for the 20-21 MY's due to the CarPlay headunit.

But OP, search eBay for the SD card. Don't pay more than $20; I dont really use the Toyota Nav, it stinks. But it's nice to use as a compass if for some reason your Apple Maps / google maps didn't pre-download the appropriate maps on your route and you lose cell service.

Happens inside the blue line up here, but I usually have a pretty good idea of where I am and a ski buddy's OnX Backcountry usually handles the deep stuff.

I just bought a CarlinKit which convert your phone to car play for Toyota. Hopefully that works.
