General question... How do you keep your accessory rack items and RTT secure?

I installed both on my truck today and its all fairly standard hardware. If someone scoped out the truck beforehand they could take off with my stuff in about a minute. Example of the mounting hardware that was provided with my stuff:

Does reasonably priced locking hardware exist, or other solutions? I'd rather not hang a bunch of unsightly and ineffective cable locks dangling off of this stuff.

That being said, I live on a rural property and that is usually where my truck is located. If it's not in my driveway I'm usually close-by the truck anyways but my fear is if I leave it parked and go hunting for a few hours it would be taken.

Random afterthought question: Does anyone in Canada (particularly BC) know if comprehensive car insurance would cover the theft of these or no? I might call them during the week and ask.

I've got "security" bolts from McMaster holding my CBI bars to the truck. Then I use security nuts with chemical "locking" washers for my RTT.

Still quick for me to take off with the right tools, but it'll take a bit longer for a thief to take the whole thing. Everything is just a deterent.

Unfortunately McMaster works horribly on my phone.

But if you search by size and material, there is an option to select the type of head for security or tamper resistant.

Call your insurance. Cannot speak for Canada, but I can insure mine as an accessory or if it's something more like a GFC it can have its own policy similar to a camper trailer.

Do the security nuts loosen up on the trail?

    I second BiggHertz
I’m interested in buying two Vanultra keyed locking mounts for the back cross bar on my bed rack. I don’t like how easy the back is for anyone to walk up and unbolt my tent.

Anyone bought one yet? Looks like they have a quick release version too

I've never had any come loose.
