So I was looking at doing oil change for my new to me truck. I'm finding that it has a skid plate, similar to the TRD, but it's not TRD. I think since it does not have the TRD logo but it looks beefy maybe aftermarket brand?. I took off the tow hooks, and loosened up all the screws. Three up front and two in the back but I can't seem to take it off. How do you take these things off? The screws loosened out they don't fall out but the skid plate won't budge.

I try to look for videos on YouTube but I can't find any. Thanks

Take a picture of it. There are TRD knock off skid plates you can find on eBay.

Does it look like this? I slapped a TRD decal on mine. It's since been sold though.

Looks almost extract minus the logo.

    Took off 2 tow hooks
    Loosen 4 10mm screws
Loosen 2 14mm screws in the back

But the screws go not come off completely and the skid plate isn't moving or budging. The metal itself seems like it's at least 1/4-in thick.

Is there a screw in the center of it? I want to be able to know how to take it off in case I need to perform service to other parts of the vehicle.

Super easy. You don't have to take the skid plate off for an oil change. Just remove that small panel with the 4 bolts holding. That will give you access to the filter canister than on your passenger side is the drain. When you drain though, be prepared because when it stops shooting out at an angle, it will start trickling down the oil pan then onto your skid plate leaving a huge mess so have a funnel or something prepared to catch last ounce. Also, this would be a good time to install a Fumoto valve or ValvoMax for mess free draining.

Where are located? If your near me I have a spare Fumoto.

Yeah I was able to do the oil change already. After I have loosened everything, then I just reported everything back on.

I actually put a piece of cardboard underneath the drain plug so it wouldn't get my skid plate. All nasty. And I tilted the oil canister slightly so all the oil drained out before I pulled it out. It wasn't messy at all. Just took my time.

    I'm located in PDX Metro.
