Hey guys, trying to upgrade my front USB ports to a UBS C one and I’m having trouble removing the trim. I was following this video https://youtu.be/PX6tIOevlOk?si=m8FhDzVlBC29L8EP and I’m using a straight plastic tool. I’m using WAY more force than he is in the video so I’m wondering if they changed something for 2021 or if I’m doing something wrong. The plastic tool is cracking and it feels like I’m close to breaking something in the dash. Any advice?

It's tight. I pulled the trim piece around the shifter to get a little more leverage at the bottom. Once you can get one side to give it will come easy.

Ok thanks for the tip with the shifter trim piece. I’ll give that a shot tomorrow

I’ve always had better luck pulling the HVAC panel first. After that the one beneath comes out easy. Grab the control knobs from the top and press down and towards the shifter.

Was a busy weekend so I just got back to it. I slapped the new ports in and everything works fine.

Question though…what switch is supposed to be here? It’s prewired. Is it something I can just buy and slap in?
