I have 275/65r20 toyo open country mt’s and are about 1/2 inch from touching my uca. Is that too close? I’m worried when going down at hwy speed the tire is going to expand. [IMG] [IMG]

Seems like 1/2" would be a lot to expand. I'm not really sure how close is safe, but here's a pic of my 37x12.50s with stock UCAs. That's about 3/16". I've been going with that for the past 10k miles without any issues. I've flexed out the suspension and crawled under there to look at the clearance with the wheels turned to every position, and the tires don't ever touch the UCA. So I just roll with it.UCA driver straight.jpg

my only gripe is that i'll need wheel spacers to fit 37x13.50s, which means more :sawzall::rofl:

Mine has about half the clearance you have. 20k miles and no problems.

Did they send you two washers for each ball joint, or did you have to ask them for an extra one?

For those that don't know, JBA has an issue with the boot not seating properly with the new style ball joints on both the Tundras and 4Runners.

What is JBA's maximum back spacing recommendation? My Zone UCA's specs state a maximum of 6" back spacing. Did you check JBA's maximum backspacing allowed before you bought them to account for your wheel offset/tire combo???? Looks like you have plenty of clearance.

Plenty of room, and even if it touches it's not going to slash you're tire. People run 1/4 that amount all the time.

    Good eye!

Yup, that's exactly what happened. I took these pics as soon as I got the tires mounted. My fingers rubbed all over the UCA as I was checking for clearance.
