So. Had this JBA uppers installed the other day. And of course, an alignment was done. On my way home, the truck drive straight, but steering wheel was off to the right by a hair. But since my tire wear is not even, I can live with it for now. Now for the bad. When I went to make a u turn, I heard a terrible knocking sound, and also felt it on the steering wheel. Every time lock the wheel to either side, it makes the same terrible noise, and it didn't do that before. I have bilstein 6112 with a 3" lift up front for about a year. Just now added the UCA s. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm going back to the shop Monday. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

No. Skid plate already trimmed. All the rubbing issues were taken care of a year ago when I did the lift. All I did now was upper control arm upgrade.

Have you had someone turn the wheels to lock while you're under there?

No. Just me turning, then getting out of the truck to see. I feel like waking up my kids now to go check it with me under the truck. LoL.

Not the front bumper. It's more of a metal on metal knock sound. My tires are not huge. 295/75/18.

A 35 is a large tire for this trucks. Probably hitting your BMC now that you’re in good alligntment.

So, yesterday, I must have done 50 turns each way, no more noise. Still went to the shop this morning, they checked everything, the entire front end. And everything checked out fine. Still noise free today. So, time will tell. Thank you guys for your input.

This happened to me and at first I couldn’t find it but it was the OEM skid plate. Other things to check if it comes back are the steering stops on lower ball joint and LCA bushings binding.

Skid plate was trimmed a year ago. I will keep the other stuff in mind in the future. Thanks

Noise is back, every now and then, and I think I found the problem.

If it happens at full lock which I think is what your symptom is then grease the steering stops! Cheap and easy fix
